Journey to the Cave of Bemagorn: A Collaborative Math Adventure
This traveling kit brings classic fantasy role-playing games alive with a fully produced audio adventure featuring interactive props and puzzles. Students will work as a class to overcome obstacles in the sprawling Caves of Bemagorn, retrieve a magical healing gem, and save the village! Educators insert their own math problems into the adventure for students to solve, making the adventure customizable to any classroom.

- This kit provides an incredible opportunity for students to review math concepts taken directly from your curriculum, while also encouraging peer communication, collaboration, and teamwork.
- This kit was designed with ELL and neurodiverse students in mind!
- Once you book, we will send you all the classroom materials electronically.
- We are testing out a new kit drop-off system! If your school is less than 15 miles away from MoPOP, we will drop off your kit on a Friday and pick it up on a Friday.

WHAT DOES THE KIT INCLUDE?
The kit includes:
- Handcrafted fantasy props that bring the story alive.
- Fully-produced audio adventure and corresponding PowerPoint slide deck to navigate the story
- Original artwork.
- A teacher’s satchel which includes a Teacher’s Guide, props, dice, and more!
- Five character kits, which include props, illustrations, and other surprises!
- A student script for students to follow along, if they need to.
WHAT GRADES IS THIS PROGRAM FOR?
The “Journey to the Cave of Bemagorn” kit is ideal for grades 4–12.
CAN I USE THE KIT VIRUALLY?
Unfortunately, not at this time. This kit is meant for in-person classroom implementation.
HOW MANY STUDENTS DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE?
The kit is adaptable for classrooms with 5-35 students.
HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED FOR IMPLEMENTATION?
Approximately 2 hours long in total, can be broken up over several class periods.
WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO PREPARE FOR USING AN OUTREACH KIT IN THE CLASSROOM?
A basic list of each Outreach Kit’s contents and an outline of included lessons or activities will be available online. Once a reservation is booked, MoPOP will send a detailed teacher packet along with the confirmation materials, which includes specific guidelines for each kit that teachers can use for planning purposes.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD AN OUTREACH KIT RENTAL BE BOOKED?
We ask that you make your Outreach Kit reservation at least two weeks in advance. The earlier you book it, the easier it will be for us to guarantee its available when you need it!
WHEN AND WHERE ECAN AN OUTREACH KIT RENTAL BE PICKED UP AND RETURNED?
The kits are scheduled for a week, Friday to Friday. At this time, delivery to schools is offered to schools within a 30-minute drive from Seattle. For schools outside that radius, kits are available for pickup or drop off during the week, to be scheduled on a case-by-case basis. Kits may be picked up from the MoPOP office at the front desk of our museum offices, at 120 6th Avenue N, Seattle, WA 98109. Late returns result in a late charge of $5 a day. We will do our best to accommodate any short-notice rental extensions, but cannot guarantee their availability.
DOES THE TEACHER USING THE OUTREACH KIT HAVE TO BE THE ONE TO PICK IT UP?
If you are not having your kit delivered, teachers are welcome to send another person to pick up or return their Outreach Kit rental. Please ensure that whoever is picking up the kit has the rental confirmation information, pick-up instructions, and knows which kit they’ll be receiving.
CAN MOPOP DELIVER OR PICK UP AN OUTREACH KIT AT OUR SCHOOL?
At this time, delivery to schools is offered to schools within a 30-minute drive from Seattle.
WHAT IS MoPOP'S CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING POLICY?
Rental reservations may be canceled or rescheduled up to 14 days from the pick-up date. All rental date changes and cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled pick-up date will incur a $25 fee.
WHAT HAPPENS IF AN ITEM IS LOST OR BROKEN?
Renters are responsible for keeping the Outreach Kit rental and its contents safe, and will be charged the replacement cost of any lost or broken items. Trunks and Kits should be stored in a secured area, or locked if others have access to them.

Late returns will result in a fine of $5 per day. Please be mindful that kits may be booked back-to-back in the busy season, and late returns may disrupt another teacher’s rental.
