Kate Grover is a doctoral candidate in American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research and writing examines gender and representation in U.S. music and popular culture. Kate also volunteers as a counselor and “Womxn Who Rock” workshop leader for Girls Rock Austin, a nonprofit empowering girls and women through music, education, and performance.
